RESPONSIBILITIES
Specialised Lending Services (SLS) Management: together with the Head of SLS optimize the value of current portfolio under SLS Asia Pacific management within the risk parameters of the bank and ensure the adequacy of the allowances for impaired credits.
Optimize the restructuring and recovery of the bank’s SLS accounts by, if necessary, direct negotiations with debtors and /or other creditors / other professionals (accountants/lawyers), involvement in steering committees, assisting/providing guidance to CRO/CPM in Asia Pacific countries in their dealings with SLS clients (formulation of action plans and strategies and their implementations);
Coordinate all (internal) parties involved (eg: product peoples, legal, CRO etc) on management of SLS account;
Ensure adequacy of allowance of each individual impaired account and ensure that in-take analysis is done within 8 weeks after the account is transferred to SLS;
Recommend structure and corporate finance solutions ie. Use mix of debt, financial and capital market products in maximizing the recovery/restructuring.
Make decision on credit presentations within delegated approval authority for SLS Asia and provide recommendation on credit presentations outside authority to GRM SLS.
Monitor the performance of designated individual accounts and together with CRO of the respective countries, the overall portfolio;
Prepare necessary reports required by Head Office in particular quarterly provision GRC report;
Support CRO/CPM to monitor doubtful (RED list) accounts and discuss necessary actions to prevent future problems
Cross sell the bank’s products and services within appropriate risk parameters
Translate general guidelines into policies that apply to specific countries’ needs, situations, legal & accounting systems and other peculiarities;
Support the bank as a learning organization by involvement in training (eg. Lessons Learned, Turn of the Cycle, etc).
REQUIREMENTS
A degree holder, preferably with a Master degree in Finance/Business Administration/Economics
Minimum 8 years relevant experience in credit or risk.
Knowledgeable banker with broad product knowledge of banking, treasury, capital markets, and in-depth knowledge of risk management.
Outstanding negotiation skills.
Tenacity and ability to deal with very demanding situations.
Ability to work independently (with minimum guidance) with good analytical & problem solving skills.
Strong inter-personal and communication skills (both written and oral).
Minimal guidance required, willingness to learn and be open minded
Is actively involved in all areas/dept and functions within the bank and will deal with the all representatives in Asia.
Will deal with external advisors, clients and other banks when necessary
Japanese and Mandarin will be a huge advantage.
