Job Description:
Senior / Underwriter
Location: Bugis

Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a robust brokerage strategy ensuring:
• Key performance indicators objectives are met
• Underwriting profitability is maintained
• Strike rates are optimize for quotations given
• Effective and sound relationship management of brokers
• Sound expense management

Develop and ensure the following underwriting management programs are implemented:
• Loss Control (appropriate use of the available services)
• Quality Control
• Underwriting Plan/Monitoring Control
• Pricing Management (using the Burning Cost Model as appropriate)
• Service Management
• Catastrophe Management
• Training and Development

Develop an effective program to manage the portfolio of business underwritten.
• Portfolio Planning, including Account Management
• Portfolio Pricing
• Portfolio Monitoring and Control
Ensure all business is underwritten within established Internal Audit Guidelines
Delegate underwriting authority within country to appropriately recruited, trained and developed personnel.
Proactively prepare for account renewal review with marketing staffs.
Work with sales staff to identify and produce new products and/or packages to meet current or potential market needs. Ensure approvals from appropriate regional and regulatory authorities are obtained timely
Establish, implement and communicate country underwriting policies and procedures, response timetables and quality standards


Requirements:
Min Dip / above/ relevant studies in ACII/ GI (SII) etc
At least 5 years in the insurance industry in relevant role
Effective in verbal and written communications in English / 2nd language
High level of interpersonal and negotiation skills at multiple levels
Able to team lead and provide excellent leadership to the department to drive results
