Job Description:
Underwriter (Commercial / General Insurance)
Location: Central
Responsibilities:
Underwriting in various classes of general insurance (local and multinational)
Utilizes underwriting guidelines and Company best practices to ensure compliance with state regulations.
Ability to use creativity and underwriting knowledge to write risks and retain business.
To develop and implement strategy for continuous renewal preservation
To manage the production and profitability of the department
Communicates with assigned producers on underwriting issues including, but not limited to, decisions on cancellations, declinations, exposure concerns, and survey results.
Develop business relationship with producers
Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Commerce, Economics, Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
At least 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Has good experience in any of the following classes of general insurance: marine/liabilities/property/fire/casualty/commercial
Preferably Managers specializing in Actuarial Science/Statistics, Banking/Financial Services or equivalent.
Analytical, meticulous and numerate
Self-motivated, customer centric
Great team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
