Job Description:
Senior Underwriter
Location: Raffles
Responsibilities:
Analyze and resolve customer and intermediaries’ complaints, collaboration with various internal stakeholders in order to achieve customer satisfaction with fair outcomes as per the complaint resolution process
Manage email enquiries within the agreed SLA in order to provide timely and appropriate level of service to our customers and intermediaries
Train and mentor junior underwriters in order to build technical expertise within the team
Review and interpret medical information and results in order to understand the significance of abnormal test results and how these abnormalities translate to adverse mortality or morbidity
Updates of new medical and scientific developments in order to achieve competitive edge and support underwriting guidelines review
Asses and analyze life and health risk profile in order to achieve fair and accurate underwriting decision in line with department’s underwriting philosophy and maintain profitability
Identify and evaluate system gaps and recommend solutions for system enhancement in order to achieve defined levels of improvement in efficiency and productivity
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Senior Underwriter, Manager or HOD in order to support the initiatives and KPI of the department
Requirements:
Degree or equivalent qualifications
Certified in CLI, DLI, ILP, HI, LOMA and ALU
Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in the area of underwriting Life and Health business.
Understand the principles, practices and regulatory aspects of Life insurance, health Insurance and Investment linked products
Good medical knowledge with underwriting background
Knowledge on reinsurance process and treaty terms
Problem solving and analytical skills
Knowledge of MS Office application software
Proficient in oral and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
